Amadores Beach and Gran Canaria Events Calendar
Amadores sits on the sheltered south-west coast at Mogan, about 25 minutes from Maspalomas and the Yumbo Centre, so most of the island's big events are within easy reach. This is a living guide: it covers the current month and the next three, and it is re-checked every week as organisers confirm dates. Every dated entry below rests on at least two published sources; where a date is still provisional we say so instead of guessing.
Months at a glance
The tail end of Maspalomas Fetish Pride, Spain's National Day on 12 October and the last warm weeks before the winter season. The best month of the autumn for beach days and walking.
Winter Pride Maspalomas (2-8 November) and the Gran Canaria tango marathon fill the first half of the month, with All Saints observed on 2 November.
The Immaculate Conception opens the month; Christmas and the year-end festival season close it, with the warmest winter sun in Europe.
Three Kings parades on 5-6 January and the start of the Las Palmas Carnival season on 22 January, as the island's biggest party begins while northern Europe shivers.
Courses and workshops
South Gran Canaria runs courses all year for visitors on longer stays. Schedules roll, so book direct with the provider and confirm the current timetable and fee before you commit.
Spanish language courses
Language schools in Las Palmas and Playa del Ingles run intensive and drop-in Spanish classes, from one-week crash courses to long-stay programmes. Book direct with the school; fees vary with hours per week and group size.
Diving and water-sports courses
PADI and SSI centres working out of Puerto Rico, Mogan and Amadores run try-dives through to open-water certification. Amadores itself is a calm, sheltered bay, which makes it a good spot for a first dive or a refresher.

Surf and windsurf schools
Surf lessons run mainly at Las Canteras in Las Palmas; windsurf and kitesurf schools cluster at Pozo Izquierdo and Bahia Feliz on the east coast. Beginner courses are usually a half day.
