Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival 2027

Friday 5 - Sunday 28 February 2027 (the carnival itself runs 22 January - 28 February)

The February programme runs from the 5th to the 28th. The Gran Dama Gala opens it, the Drag Queen Gala is on the 19th, the Gran Cabalgata on the 20th and the Entierro de la Sardina closes the carnival on the 28th. In between come the adult costume contest (6th), the Carnaval Canino (7th), the Gala de la Reina (8th), the Drag preselection (12th), Divas por la Corona (25th) and Carnaval de Dia (27th).

Where: Parque de Santa Catalina and the city centre, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria - 45-60 minutes up the GC-1.

Why go: The two nights the capital turns out for fall on the 19th and the 20th - a Friday and a Saturday - so this one works as a weekend rather than a school-night run.

BRUTAL Winter Fetish Festival 2027 (formerly Maspalomas Rubber Fest)

Monday 8 - Sunday 14 February 2027 (5th edition)

Seven days across Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles, Monday 8 to Sunday 14 February. The organiser lists 2027 as the festival's 5th edition, under the new BRUTAL name.

Where: Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles - 25 minutes from Amadores.

Why go: The one February event that leaves the beach completely alone: drop in for a night in the resort belt and Amadores is exactly as you left it.

The North Face Transgrancanaria 2027

Monday 22 - Sunday 28 February 2027; the Classic starts at 23:59 on Friday 26 February

The 28th edition crosses the island on foot. The Classic is 126 km with 6,764 m of climbing, it starts at Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas at 23:59 on Friday 26 February, and the finish line is at Parque Sur in Maspalomas.

Where: Starts at Las Canteras, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; finishes at Parque Sur, Maspalomas - 25 minutes from Amadores.

Why go: Go for the finish, not the start. Parque Sur is 25 minutes away, and the closing hours of a 126 km race are better watched from the pavement than at midnight in Las Palmas.
