July puts three dates within reach of the beach: Arguineguin's Carmen fiestas 15 minutes up the coast, a soul festival on the sand at San Agustin, and Galdar's patron saint in a Jacobean holy year.
WATCH & LISTEN
Fiestas del Carmen, Arguineguin
Friday 16 July 2027 - the feast of the Virgen del Carmen and a local holiday in Mogan
Arguineguin's fishing quarter holds its fiestas around the feast, and the maritime procession follows on the Sunday.
Where: Arguineguin - 15 minutes up the coast from Amadores.
Why go: The most local night of the summer and the nearest: this one belongs to the fishing quarter rather than the resorts. If you go once, go on the Sunday for the maritime procession.
Not yet published: the 2027 fiesta dates for the processions and the rest of the programme - Mogan publishes them in July.

Soul and African-American music on the sand at San Agustin, over three nights. San Bartolome de Tirajana council announced the dates for the 11th edition at the WTM London trade fair; the poster and lineup follow.
Where: Playa de San Agustin - 25 minutes up the coast.
Why go: Three nights on the sand rather than in a hall, with the dates fixed well ahead of the lineup - enough to book a stay around.
Not yet published: the 2027 lineup and poster.

Fiestas Mayores de Santiago, Galdar
Sunday 25 July 2027
Santiago Apostol, the patron day of the old Guanche capital. 2027 is a Jacobean holy year - the town's own programme calls it the Ano Santo Jacobeo 2027 - because the fiesta's day, 25 July, falls on a Sunday.
Where: Galdar, in the north-west of the island.
Why go: A Jacobean holy year only happens when 25 July lands on a Sunday, so this is Galdar's year - the one fiesta on the calendar with that behind it.
Not yet published: the romeria date and the rest of the 2027 programme - Galdar publishes them in July.
